DSM Help!!! Empty DSM Help!!!

Post by JSmith25 March 30th 2011, 1:57 pm

I'm Pretty new to the DSM game. I've driven Suarus for the last 6 yrs. I think my motor is blown in my "92 GST so my question is, do any of you know anybody or anywhere I can take it to have motor work done for a cheap/reasonable price? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Motor work and cheap, don't really go in the same sentence very well. What's your budget? I might know someone that can help you out. I know I was having problems with my motor so I just bought a used JDM 4g63 for 1300 and I still had to go pick it up.

Yeah I understand the motorwork/cheap thing. But I would realistically like to keep it under 1500ish since I just spent a lot on the tranny. Where did you get the jdm motor from and who did the work? If you don't mind me asking.

I got the motor from RRE. I called and they had one there. I do all my work on my car. I have all the tools and engine hoist I will ever need. And over 10 years of experience and now 8 ASE cert. I'm pretty sure as long as you didn't put a whole in your block a rebuild will only cost you around 1k with parts and put the motor back in yourself.

Ok sounds good. I don't think I could do the motor out/in. That's my biggest issue at this point.

Ya that's the hardest part. Get getting in and out by yourself.
